Bridget Liddell Principal, Fahrenheit 212, New York
As the Managing Principal of Fahrenheit Ventures, Bridget Liddell provides leadership to companies seeking to successfully commercialize their products and services in the U.S. market.
Bridget’s extensive experience in finance, management and governance combine to offer a comprehensive suite of capabilities that meet emerging businesses’ needs, including: raising capital, establishing governance structure, promoting sell-in, advising branding and marketing strategies, and forging strategic alliances. Often her clients are strong offshore brands seeking swift, profitable traction with American audiences.
Bridget is also the Chair of the New Zealand / U.S. Beachhead Program – a New Zealand government program offering strategic advice and mentoring to businesses seeking access to the U.S. market.
She is currently a Director of the New Zealand Superannuation Fund, a US$11B pension fund for all New Zealand citizens and previously served as a Director of the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment.
Bridget was Fahrenheit 212’s Chief Operating Officer between 2003 and 2005; she returned to the team to head up its Fahrenheit Ventures commercialization business.
Bridget has always enjoyed providing strategic guidance to both public and private enterprises. She served as a Director of two public companies in New Zealand, Sky City Ltd. and Fisher & Paykel Appliances Holdings Ltd. She has served as a member of the University of Auckland Council, Industry New Zealand – a national economic development agency, Competitive Auckland Ltd. – a regional economic development organization and Auckland Uniservices Ltd. – a technology transfer concern. She was also Director of Research for CS First Boston NZ Ltd.
A born leader, Bridget was Chief Executive Officer of Carter Holt Harvey Plastic Products and served as CEO of University of Auckland Development. |

Steve Wilson Managing Director, Talbot Plastics Ltd
Steve was awarded the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to Industry, and is a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Management. He is also a Life Member of Plastics New Zealand (the trade organisation representing New Zealand Plastics Companies), having been National President on two occasions (each two year terms), plus having held many other National Offices over 20 years' involvement with the Plastics Industry.
Steve began life as a Mechanical Engineer, having graduated from Canterbury University. He started business life as a Design Engineer,but at the age of 23 was made CEO of a Manufacturing Engineering Company, and he has had 32 years' experience as a CEO of companies primarily in the Garments and Plastics Industries. Steve is currently Managing Director and owner of Talbot Plastics Ltd, a technical plastics manufacturer based in Christchurch. |

Sarah Trotman MD Bizzone
“The importance of SME’s in NZ’s prosperity”
Sarah is Managing Director of Bizzone, business support specialists who are the organisers behind three major initiatives supporting the business sector. The Business Expo, with over 13,000 attendees it’s the largest event held for business owners and influencers in New Zealand, the Vero Excellence in Business Support Awards, conceived by Sarah to support and grow small business in New Zealand. In addition, Sarah has developed the Bizzone business support magazine – a dedicated business magazine focusing on the SME sector and distributed to 40,000 businesses New Zealand wide.
Formerly Chief Executive of Business In The Community, Sarah was identified by the Sir Peter Blake Trust as one of the emerging leaders of New Zealand and she now sits on the board of the Sir Peter Blake Trust. |

Geoff Scott Chef Owner – Vinnies Restaurant
As the owner and chef of the iconic Auckland restaurant Vinnies, Geoff is passionate about cooking New Zealand produce. In 2008 Vinnies won the title “Restaurant of the Year” in the New Zealand Culinary Fare. His recent roles have included Executive Chef at the Hilton Hotel, White restaurant in Auckland and is currently the New Zealand based international business class consultant chef for Air New Zealand.
Geoff is a council member of the New Zealand Nutrition Foundation and somehow also manages to find time to play trumpet with the Auckland Symphony Orchestra.
Geoff Scott began his career by studying London City & Guilds professional cookery in Auckland, New Zealand. He trained at the Regent Hotel and twice represented New Zealand as a junior on the culinary world stage. |

David Irving Honorary Professor, The University of Auckland Business School Founder, The ICEHOUSE
“Challenges for SME’s”
David Irving is the retired CEO of Heinz Watties Australasia, and founder of The ICEHOUSE, part owner and Chairman of Cable Bay Vineyards, Chairman of Prolife Foods, AS Wilcox and AuCom Technologies and a long term Advisor to Hubbard Foods and Marstel Holdings. David is also an Honorary Professor at The University of Auckland Business School. He is a regular ‘management’ contributor to Unlimited Magazine.
David led the establishment of The ICEHOUSE and The ICEHOUSE Business Growth Programmes for The University of Auckland Business School.
He was the inaugural Sir John Logan Campbell Executive in Residence at the University of Auckland from 1997 to 1998. In his role as Adjunct Professor, David is uniquely placed to contribute to the integration between the teaching, learning and research activities of the Business School and the business community. He now devotes his time completely to New Zealand SME’s. |

Peter Smith Managing Director, Progressive Enterprises Ltd
“NZ’s need for Prosperity”
Since joining Woolworths in 1974 as a trainee in the Western Australian supermarkets, Peter has held various roles including Area Manager and Distribution Services Manager, and went on to manage the supermarket operations in Western Australia and then Queensland before being appointed General Manager Supermarket Operations in 2003 with responsibility for all Woolworths and Safeway supermarkets across Australia.
In late 2006 he relocated to New Zealand take up the position of Managing Director of Progressive Enterprises Ltd, operators of Foodtown, Woolworths and Countdown supermarkets. |

Andrew Ferrier Chief Executive Officer, Fonterra
Andrew Ferrier has been Chief Executive of Fonterra Co-operative Group since 2003, responsible for assets of more than $14 billion and driving performance in the company’s operations which span more than 140 countries around the world.
Andrew has more than 20 years’ experience in senior executive roles, with 15 years as a Chief Executive in operating and holding companies.
He is founding Chairman of Global Dairy Platform, an international organisation whose mission is to provide insight and guidance in the promotion of the healthy consumption of dairy. Andrew also sits on the Growth and Innovation Advisory Board (GIAB) which provides high level, independent strategic advice to the New Zealand Government on growth and innovation issues. |

Barry Irvin Chairman Tatura Milk Company
Barry Irvin is also Chairman of Bega Cheese.
Barry’s background is finance, he spent the first years of his working life in banking before returning to operate the family farming businesses. He became involved with Bega Cheese while continuing to grow his dairy and beef business. He now operates over ten properties in the Bega Valley.
Barry’s involvement in the dairy industry includes his role as Chairman of Bega Cheese and Deputy Chairman of Capitol Chilled Foods (Australia) a Canberra based milk processing and distribution company.
Barry’s other interests include charitable work and he has led a team that has raised over $10 million for children with autism. |

Andrei Mikhalevsky Managing Director Fonterra, Global Ingredients and Foodservices
Andrei Mikhalevsky is Managing Director, Global Ingredients and Foodservices and joined Fonterra in 2007. He is based in the United States and is responsible for global ingredients,foodservices, innovation and our Latin American operations. Andrei has more than 30 years’ experience in ingredients and consumer product businesses.
Prior to Fonterra, Andrei was Global President of the flavours division in Symrise, a leading manufacturer of flavours, fragrances and sensory ingredients. |

Dr Laurence Eyres ECG Ltd
Dr. Laurence Eyres FNZIFST, runs his own contracting /consulting business for the Food and Dietary Supplements Industries specializing in oils and fats and related lipids, product and business development.
Until recently (2009) he was Business Development Director, Food and Nutrition at Auckland University. Laurence has had a varied career in the Food Industry spanning thirty five years. He has held general manager positions as well as Technical and Operations Directors roles with Abels Ltd., APV, Bluebird Foods, NZ Dairy Foods, and Fonterra Brands. He has also held roles in the Universities, namely Director and Associate Professor of Food Technology and Agribusiness at Massey University and a business development role at Auckland University.
He is a recently retired board Director of FSANZ and has advisory roles with the NZ Nutrition Foundation and NZ Heart Foundation. He is Chairman of the NZIC Oils and Fats specialist group, a role he has held on and off for 25 years. |

Graeme Harrison Founder and Chairman, ANZCO Foods
Graeme Harrison is the Founder and Chairman of ANZCO Foods Ltd, a New Zealand based multinational company with annual sales of over $NZ1 billion, employing 2,500 people on 10 production sites in New Zealand and a network of sales and marketing offices in Japan, Taiwan, North America, United Kingdom, Belgium and New Zealand. After 20 years as ANZCO’s Managing Director, he removed himself in 2004 from daily management of all companies except joint ventures held with Itoham Foods Inc in Five Star Beef Ltd and Itoham New Zealand Ltd, of which he remains Managing Director.
An MA (Hons) graduate he spent 13 years of his business career resident off shore and has held a number of directorships outside the ANZCO Group. Current directorships include Sealord Group Ltd and Westland Milk Products. He is also the Chairman of the recently launched New Zealand International Business Forum. |

Katherine Rich CEO, NZ Food and Grocery Council
After completing a BCom and BA at the University of Otago University, Mrs Rich worked at the Ministry of Agriculture, the Foundation for Research, Science and Technology, and then as marketing manager for Alliance Textiles.
In Parliament, she has been spokeswoman on education, economic development, SOEs, welfare and employment, ACC, broadcasting, tourism, and arts culture and heritage. She chaired the commerce select committee and served on the health, social services and primary production committees
Mrs Rich, who stood down after three terms at the last election, became the New Zealand Food & Grocery Council’s CEO in March last year. |

Rod Quin CEO, Westland Milk Products
Rod Quin was appointed CEO of Westland Milk Products in April 2009 as a result of an ongoing successful career in the food industry and specifically during the past 13 years in the New Zealand dairy industry. Having gained an Honours degree in Biotechnology and in more recent years experienced living and working in Hamburg, Tokyo and Switzerland; Rod has repeatedly demonstrated the ability to succeed working with diverse cultures, teams and market conditions.
As a dairy industry leader accountable for a significant proportion of the economic wellbeing on the West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand, he enjoys and respects the relationships he has with his shareholders, colleagues, directors and the wider community. |

Jim Moser CEO, Clemenger Group New Zealand
Jim is an American/Australian with a very unusual background. While born, raised and educated in the United States, Jim ventured off shore more than 15 years ago to forge his career globally. Jim has worked in North America (New York and Chicago), Europe (Warsaw and Milan) and Australasia (Sydney and Auckland).
Jim began his most recent appointment as CEO of Clemenger Group New Zealand in October 2008. Prior to that, he spent nine years as Managing Director of Clemenger BBDO Sydney transforming the agency into a dominant market leader.
While in Europe, Jim oversaw the merger of BBDO Italy with the high-powered creative hot shop D’Adda Lorenzini Vigorelli forming DLV BBDO. And in 1993, he began his BBDO career in Warsaw where he took an unranked agency into the # 2 position in the market and diversified the group into media, public relations and promotional marketing. |

Peter Ross, Peter Ross Consulting Ltd
Peter is a Human Resources advisor to a range of organisations wishing to achieve change through re-organising their management and recruiting senior executives or board members. He currently works for himself and for a number of years was leader of the Search practice for Sheffield in Auckland.
Between 1997 and 2001 Peter was the partner in charge of KPMG Consulting in Hong Kong and China involved in numerous strategy consulting engagements in the private and public sectors. Prior to moving to Hong Kong he held a similar position with KPMG in Auckland.
He has extensive experience consulting to the private sector throughout New Zealand across a wide range of issues from strategy through efficiency improvements to finding and retaining the right people. |
